Passage

A few hours ago, Evangeline Chipman - my last surviving grandparent and one of the strongest best people I'll ever know - passed away after having been in ill health for some time.

I'm not interested in getting into any more details than that. I share only because - while it's my intention to not interupt the workflow of my sites and projects (if anything, I really need the focusing-effect of work-to-be-done right now) - I can't say what sort of things arrangements and obligations will do to my schedules and output. So, if this blog or other venues seem to be either less active or less "upbeat" than usual, I ask your patience and understanding as to why that probably is.

This is going to be a very difficult period for me and for my family, and your support and understanding is deeply appreciated.

Losing anyone is hard, but it always seems like when grandparents die life loses some of its ~magic~, like they have a kind of power that no one else does.

Heartfelt sympathies, sir. All the best of luck in dealing with the pain - when you're ready to get back to normal, after however long, we'll be here.

My condolences, Bob. If it helps you focus, I do look forward to your future work. But yeah, sometimes that stuff has to go on the back burner for a while.

Take care of what needs taking care of. We'll still be here when you're done.

I know how you feel Bob, I lost my grandfather last year. My grandmother, two years before that. They were the best people I have ever had the honor to know. I wish you luck in dealing with your grievances. And I can tell you that we all will be completely acceptable of you taking some time (those of us who matter any way).

I'm truly sorry for your loss Bob. I wouldn't worry too hard about work flow if it comes in conflict with family business. I (and I'm sure your other fans) would completely understand.

Take as much time as you need, man. Real life is a lot harder.

Wish I could do something more than say 'wish there was something more I can do'. :\

I too lost a my grandmother this weekend, on fathers day (actually was my dad's mom...yikes) so I know the feeling, this is of course only 4 months after losing my grandfather. so believe me when I say I know how family deaths can be distracting. do what you need to do.

having just lost my second grandparent (and #3 and 4 arent far away and are on opposite sides of the family, though I still have one of each type of grandparent which is weird), my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time.

I don't know what you believe, but I believe she must be in a better place, so I hope that comes as some comfort to you, if not, although I doub some random internet stranger can do anything for you, but in the odd event that I CAN do something for you, bob, you've just to ask.

Sorry for your loss Bob. We disagree occasionally about movies but I am a fan and thus an odd beast. Know that your fans are here and will wait while you mourn. Not a one of us will be going anywhere.

Best Regards,
