EPISODE ONE: "A Matter of Character."

In the debut installment, the overwhelming awesomeness of "No More Heroes" leads the OverThinker to lament the lack of originality in the modern game world.

I'm glad you're not the only one who thinks the new Bionic Commando looks disastrous. I'm a Wii owner, and have read a lot of other Wii owners bitching because the game isn't coming to Nintendo's newest system. While I turn an consternated eye toward lack of support, I also think people are making a big deal over a game that looks like shit, simply because it carries the Bionic Commando name.

If this game were called "Mr. Robot Arm and His Adventures in the Post Apocalyptic Future" everybody would think it looked like shit...which it does.

I have no more benefit of the doubt left to give.

Just to be fair... I think the game (Bionic Commando) looks decent, just not nuts about the design scheme. If it's fun to play, it'll probably be at least a six.

† Iso † says:
That was incredibly crap.
[Kodge] says:
Dont be gay, that was awesome and right on the head
† Iso † says:
Okay, maybe about Character Design, and that most Hits are FPS's. We can't all go around as a pink blob forever
[Kodge] says:
Everything he said was right
† Iso † says:
He was a Nintendo Nerd to the core
† Iso † says:
That's all I saw
[Kodge] says:
He appreciates good games.
† Iso † says:
Like what? Brawl?
[Kodge] says:
The old games that were awesome like Megaman are nearly like 23847289502394938475348758367 times better than today
[Kodge] says:
Yeah eh was wrong about brawl
† Iso † says:
So, let's say we go back to the Era of pressing B to jump, holding A to hold and release a shell
† Iso † says:
How long, until it gets to a point where something new must be done. Even Mario had a gun at one point
† Iso † says:
Albeit a Watergun
[Kodge] says:
thats not the point
† Iso † says:
What is the point? His "Hero's" are all overdone relics.
† Iso † says:
Like they haven't appeared a million times
† Iso † says:
He complains about Lack of Originality, but yet, Sonic, Mario, Kirby and whoever the fuck else he said
† Iso † says:
Are still here today
† Iso † says:
Done a million times over
[Kodge] says:
yeah but there games dont sell because people like you are like " bawww too many bright colours, gay "
† Iso † says:
Oh please. You got on at me for not being realistic enough with mah Haloz
† Iso † says:
What bright colourful world do you play CoD4 in
† Iso † says:
The only bright colorful games I can think of, with this current Era.
† Iso † says:
TF2 and them shitty Katamari Damacy.
† Iso † says:
Don't say Portal because when you escaped, it was nothing but Brown.
† Iso † says:
I agree'd more when it came to Robots.
† Iso † says:
What's with all the Robots.
† Iso † says:
But then again
† Iso † says:
Metroid

........wow. Wow on Bionic Commando. I keep myself out of the loop about a lot of stuff with news, so I totally missed hearing about that new Bionic Commando.

....I wish I'd stay just enjoying my Bionic Commando Rearmed demo, blissful in my ignorance.

So you start ridiculing Madden fans from the first one, eh? I think they're annoying as well, but I prefer to ignore them.

It's just so frustrating when my own friends are the ones caught up in the annual sheeple exploitation fest that is a Madden release.

"Capcom" being on the cover is reason to expect the worst out of the game, not quality. Then again, this is coming from someone who started in the N64 era, so maybe you've still got fond memories that began with their splash screen.

Talon, Capcom DOMINATED the early generations of video games, but I think they went over their heads with releasing Super Street Fighter II X.

Granted I think they also lost it a bit with trying to make Resident Evil more than what it is (well, actually no that's not true since as of remaking the first one so that it fits with the darker mood set from Resident Evil 2 onward they already tried to make it more than it was, which was just a B Movie survival horror game on level with the original Alone in Dark games). I think the problem these days is that Capcom sees what everyone else is doing and doesn't want to work hard to create something new again, hence why Resident Evil 4 took the series from a B Movie version of Silent Hill to an even worse B Movie over-the-shoulder Doom style game (granted as much as I like Resident Evil 4 in terms of it being fun to play, it's kind of a "one of these things is not like the other" game when compared to the rest of the main series) and then Resident Evil 5 came along and somehow was even worse than that, but it probably didn't help that it's basically Resident Evil 4 (in terms of engine) copied into Africa, with Chris and Sheva instead of Leon and Ada and in HD.

Ok I'm done ranting about my favourite series (yes I am a huge RE fan but I know that it is more a farce when it goes past the gameplay to "story") I think Bob raises a good point about creativity in character and I have only one character to prove my point:

Earthworm Jim

That is all

The thing you're writing is a big blunder.

Hey, Mr Chipman. Long time fan, occasional commenter. I'm bored, so it's time to trawl the archive (again) of one of the most vital and important internet video posters in the world of videogames!
(Extra Credits, RevRants, etc).

I'm struck by the comparison between this, your first outing, and what you're doing today. So much anger! It was great.

But I was struck by something I just watched:

Okay, it's a bit longish, you're a busy guy. But I think it's relevant. You know?
