and the fandom rejoiced

Independent filmmaker Eddie Lebron, whom you may remember from the pretty-solid feature length "Mega Man" Fan-Film last year, has formally announced his production of a "Sonic the Hedgehog" Fan-Film.

The best parts of "Mega Man" were Lebron's grasp of action, scene composition, not-bad-at-all use of visual effects and clever narrative compromises toward realizing the game in live-action (and on a budget) so the notion of him tackling a feature built around a main character (and presumably several others) realized wholly through CGI is encouraging as far as I'm concerned. The BIG news, of course, is who he's landed to provide Sonic's voice...

Way. Past. Cool.

Indeed, Bob. Way past cool. So let's hope that it juices nicely. Also, let's hope that White hasn't lost any of his voice-acting chops from back when he was voicing the Blue One during the run of SatAM.

I'm happy for this, but I am doubtful at the same time, however I did like the megaman movie, it was low budget, but it did a lot better than most big budget movies did on most games. I bet he will try his best. Fingers crossed

No. Okay remember that "how to save sonic thing"

Humans plus a cgi hedgehog in looooow budget fan film. No. NOOOOOOOO. I mean Gutsman was *straining* the previous film's quality but this would be a deeply central character THE STAR and CGI screws up with like total teams onboard.

But you know how there was "all animals...its creepy and weird" this times a million. All cgi. IF not, which is totally, completely acceptable and understandable Don't do it. Don't. Your Mega Man film is a surprising success despite all rights it should suck. Don't go central casting cgi stand in.

Think what happened with Cool World!

We remember, Manticore. However, for this to be done right, it would have to be completely CGI, and I doubt Mr. Lebron has the budget for that. Either way, it's a fan film. One has to wonder if Sega will step in, or the t.v. cartoon people

Or worse, Scooby Doo live action movies and the point of that is that everything is kinda fake and exaggerated.

Yeah that's why I think no to Sonic.
