Alright, I know, I let it go longer than a month again. But this time there's an explanation. A good one.
I can't really say too much right as of now. The new episode is coming, hopefully this week. See... it WOULD'VE been up two weeks ago. We had it all set to go - but something happened. The research into that week's topic, which I honestly thought would be a quick fun/jokey episode, turned up something pretty startling that I don't think anyone has ever reported on before. So we had to do some further work - some of which is still underway - to work this new information in.
Again, I can't say too much; but rest assured that everything you THOUGHT you knew about The Game OverThinker, the gaming scene and even the very nature of the universe is about to change - perhaps forever.
Stay tuned.

Oh the drama! lol, colour me vaguely interested bob.
@Bob
Will it involve you bashing FPS's like you always do?
I know what it is. You discovered that Hyrule and the Mushroom Kingdom are in fact... (wait for it)... the same place.
Breaking news: Nintendo is awesome! Seriously though, this is like Woodward and Bernstein.
$5 says Bob will be needing his camera again.
"We"? Who elseworks on these videos?
Hopefully this doesn't mean that Bob will be doing a complete 180 on his gaming preferences (i.e. Bob says: "Horray for Halo!!" or something).
I was feeling rather glum the other day and for some reason this came to mind:
What will Nintendo do when their biggest player (you know who) passes away?
I know it's depressing and scary to think about it, but it must be done.
I mean, does Miyamoto even have a colleague he can call an "apprentice"?
Alrighty. You've set the bar high. Let's see if it holds true.
@arturo
If Shigeru was unwilling or unable to stay with Nintendo for whatever reason, I wouldn't blame them if they decided to cash in their chips and get back to their Japanese card making business. There's various regular collaborators, but not even a half-worthy successor, like a Frank Oz to Shigeru's Jim Henson.
It's pretty likely that there are SEVERAL people in the company who'd be what we'd call "likely successors" to Miyamoto, but neither he they or the company would EVER call them such - it'd be a massive Japanese social faux-pas. Everyone is "part of the team" until officially promoted otherwise.
In any case, it's hard to believe he's nearly 70.
STOP. Seriously Bob, stop slapping me in the cock with your sweet nothings and whatnot. Next up, you're gonna say that Fugazi are regrouping and that musicians everywhere are gonna stop depending so much on cut-paste and start playing songs again.
Also, if this is about Shigeru Miyamoto, it better include the fact that the dude is nucking futs in the most wonderful way.
How dramatic, Bob. No episode, no cookie.
@Bob
Maybe you should do a video on why japan is so racism against western games. Seriously, I want to know. Is it just that they think that western games are just inferior?
Whatever the reason, japan's racism is not called for.
I do believe you mean nearly 60 Bob.
Still though, for a man that old he's looking much better than Randy Savage these days (completely unrelated I know, but I saw a recent picture of him today and its gray hairs galore!).
o...kay, you have my interest piqued.
A successor to Miyamoto is unthinkable. But were it to occur, my money might be on Eiji Aonuma who has been an active director on every Zelda game since the much adored OoT. I've read interviews with Miyamoto where he has spoken quite highly of him. (though that could be just interview "We are a team" talk.)
OK, so your new episode came out... today. And I gotta say: a pseudo-theatrical sketch? ughh...
I watch your show, because I relate to your persona - be it you in reality, or you on red-bull and doritos. So, although whatever my opinion may amount to is of no consequence what-so-ever... NO, sketches suck. I hate it when the AVGN does it, I hate it when they do it on SNL (which is pretty much all they do), when John Henson did it on 'Talk-Soup' back in the day... and you should (only and only according to MHO) stay away while you can/if you care.
Dude: more Wells, Asimov, Freud, Pavlov, Kafka, hell even Josef Mengele if you're feeling kinky, but no more sketches... *sigh.
(P.S.: wasn't the game unterme... I mean underthinker already your evil doppelganger?)
Sincerely yours.
Oh my god... Are you doing a piece on Peter Molyneux?!
...I thought it was pretty witty.
If Shigeru did get replaced, my money would be on Takashi Tezuka. He's not in Shigeru's league, but who is? Eiji Aonuma's more of a Zelda guy.
Hopefully he isn't saying that video games are going to be done as of next year.
Shit, I just remembered: SMB Wii is quite a hit. Wikipedia informs me it was made by Shigeyuki Asuke, I don't know who that is but he (she?) has a serious shot.
